OFW Shares Her Life Story, Hopes To Inspire Filipinos To Strive For Their Dreams

OFW Shares Her Life Story, Hopes To Inspire Filipinos To Strive For Their Dreams

We’ve heard all sorts of horror stories encountered by Filipinos working abroad. Despite the increasing number of abuses towards our OFWs, there are still a lot who aspire to become one. Nonetheless, they consider this as the only way to provide the financial needs of their families in the Philippines.

Here is another inspiring story of an Overseas Filipino Worker in Kuwait.

Lhorie is a single mom. She is working as a domestic helper in Kuwait. Before acquiring what she have today, Lhorie first went through a lot of struggle and pain.

According to Lhorie, her grandmother took care of her ever since her father passed. She was 1 year old back then. Her mother, who got married later on, took her older sister. Lhorie felt jealous but was left without a choice.

Since then, Lhorie’s life became a living hell.

Ever since she was a child, she dreamed of going to Dubai. That dream pushed her to pursue her studies despite all the hardships in life.

During summer vacations, she goes out to work. She became a housemaid. She used her earnings to finance her studies. Lhorie also did other jobs to earn money.

Unfortunately, when she reached 3 year high school, Lhorie was influenced by her friends to try different vices, prompting her to stop studying.

During the darkest moments of her life, she met her husband and they decided to live together at the same house. She still continued to work in different establishments.

She got pregnant last Dec. 2010. Unfortunately, their relationship did not went on smoothly. They were fighting all the time. Her live-in partner don’t have work so she became the breadwinner of her family.

They finally broke up on 2014.

Lhorie the decided to work abroad to provide for her child. She applied in different agencies.

September 9, 2016 when they went to Kuwait. After 3 weeks of waiting, she was finally hired as a domestic helper.

Lhorie hopes a buy a lot for her family. She strives very hard despite the stress and homesickness she feels every day.

Lhorie is just one of the many modern heroes today. Overseas Filipino Workers strive to earn money for their families in the Philippines. Her life-story is an inspiring piece of hard-work, perseverance and courage to take on all the challenges in life.

The Family Lin

   THE FAMILY LIN
(MY second family in taiwan)

Lin Family are my second family here in taiwan. For eight years that they treated me as one of them family.
I started working with them to care for GRANDFATHER name LIN GOU RUNG(Akhong).
For the eight year i cared the father of the family LIN.
Initially hard to take care of grandfather its difficult to give him meal 3x a day and give medication.
As caregiver and all around works I have suffered and I know i afford for my my family in philippines.
Even harder I never lost HOPE that the lord is always besides me and guiding me everyday.
The lord had just been given me back my strength, more understanding and more patiences in taking care of the elderly.
In the first two weeks i care akhong(grandfather)That night i give his dinner with in two hours ended after i give him his medication. He refused to swallow the medicine every tasks such always.he suddenly....threw his glasses to me I'm mad at him.I restrained my self that lord help me and give me more patience to this old man.
Months and Years passed with them...
Grandfather held true to my grandfather.
My boss my father and my mother and their 3 children my younger brothers.
They all kind to me so that i also them...
So every three years once vacation in the philippines.I also spend a month to my husband and my son and my family.
Always like that until i got eight years in caring for akhong(grandfather). Also eight years i suffered pain and lenght of patience, adding to the ages of a person weakend body especially in the elderly.
So we need ours to accept that one day they suddenly take their lives to go heaven."Rest in Peace"
Febuary 25,2016 died akhong(grandfather)Three days before his death many wakeful, tired hard to care of him.I did all the proper i care just do not take god's his lives but weak heartbeaten he needed to rest already.
Very painful to me the loss of grandfather for eight years i cared for.

Selfish(An ofw share story)

OFW shares how her family in the Philippines called her 'makasarili'(SELFISH) for not buying them a car.

An OFW nurse who works in Canada received a hurtful message from her brother in the Philippines after she was not able to provide money for a new car.

- An OFW shared how her brother in the Philippines demanded for money to buy a car

- The OFW received a hurtful message from her brother, ranting about why she was not able to send money

- The OFW works as a nurse in Canada and lives there with her husband and children

One common reason why overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) risk working abroad is to provide for the needs of their family left in the country.

However, as OFWs make sure that their family in the Philippines are eating three times a day and the children are going to school, some family members tend to demand too much.

It is really tearful, especially if you or your family member is OFW.
Not all OFW's is selfish i think they just how steady a person for the future of the family.
OFW is not all that money the rich have any money earned due to the family.

Also it's worth mentioning that this story is a good lesson both for the overseas workers and for the members of their family.

The Life Of An OFW(Proud to be me)

Moments that i never forget in my whole life.
I start to work as OFW here in taiwan,Year 2003 i leave my only at the age of 3years old and my husband to work at taiwan.
Very painful for me to leave them but for our family i need to sacrifice for them.
One weeks two weeks 3 weeks 1 months i missed them so much especially my son.
I have suffered for my child's future,I do everything for him and for my family.
Many months and years passed homesickness until unawares complete the first three years contract.
Came the day returned to the PHILIPPINES,I told to my sefl i did not want to go abroad anymore I want to take care of my son.
So i stayed a year with my family but as i feel the hardships of life in   philippines without my husband job expect just a tricycle driver lack of daily.
So I decided again to leave a year and half year ago.
I need to work again gamble them away, all trials we were able....not today....
I think of them while they trained with homesickness.
So every three years on vacation in the philippines a month to be with the family.
The length of time working here in taiwan twelve years.
While still work....juat to fight against for the future of my family.
