Luckiest Man Alive: Pinoy Engineer in UAE Wins 1-M Dirhams (Php13.9-M) Jackpot Prize!
We all know that the best things in the world happen to only a few lucky people. No matter how hard we try, we wouldn’t be able to control to whom luck will fall upon. However, when luck does come across you, it may or may not totally change your life. Such is the story of an Overseas Filipino Worker in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who managed to bag the jackpot prize of a raffle.
Al Dizon Bansil, a 43-year-old Pinoy engineer and a resident of Sharjah was recently hailed as the grand prize winner of the annual “Al Ansari Rewards – Summer Promotion 2017” on Wednesday, August 23. According to reports, he took home a fat check worth 1-M Dirhams or around Php 13.94-M.
In an interview, the lucky man, who serves as a quantity surveyor for a construction company for more than a decade, said that he was at work when the winners were announced. He then received a phone call telling him that he was pre-qualified for the grand draw.
He said:
“Then when the grand draw was being held earlier, I was really nervous. I prayed to win… and I did.”
He also added:
“I badly wanted to win because this is a chance of a lifetime. It’s definitely going to change my life and my family’s life.”
According to Bansil, he now plans to go ho me to his family in Pampanga. However, he is still undecided on where he should invest his jackpot money. He stated:
“I don’t want to think of it for now. My priority is to go home to be with my family for this special occasion.”
Bansil said that he got his winning ticket from a remittance of 3,677 Dirhams or Php 51,000 which he sent to his wife in the Philippines.
Another lucky Pinoy named Sylvia Lizardo Valdez also won the same competition and was able to bag a brand new Nissan Patrol.
Aside from these two Filipinos, 8 other expatriates took home 10,000 Dirhams each as a consolation prize.
Netizens were overjoyed when they heard the luck that fell upon their kababayan‘s life. Check out what some of them said:
